I think my jumpers were set ok .. the cmos can recognize it..

when booting up there's a window saying that the primary slave is the one I just installed.. thats fine..

but when in the windows.. I cannot find my second hard disk..

I check in the add/remove hardware.. it says "it is properly installed"..

I dont know what to do...Is there something that I miss...??

  1. When asking questions like this its important to include what version of windows you have, XP, Vista, etc.

    I'm going to assume XP.

Go to the Control Panel.  (Start -> Control Pane)

    Then go to Administrative Tasks

    Then go to Computer Management

    On the left, Disk Management

The disk should be listed there without a drive letter.  Right click it and do "format" or something like that.

The problem is new harddrives don't come with "partition tables" you need to create one, to tell the harddrive where and how to write on it.  Windows won't show a harddrive without that info on there.
