  1. I've never been told otherwise.  I had clam chowder just last night.

  2. I have that book next to me right now, I don't see anything in it about soup, period.  I haven't heard that in any book or website..

  3. Uh, this is news to me.  I ate cream-based soups when I was pregnant, and I have a very healthy and happy baby daughter.  My only guess about chowder is it normally has clams, and pregnant women are supposed to avoid uncooked seafood.  However, the clams within are without shells and cooked, so I don't know what the issue is.  If you're concerned, though, ask your doctor.

  4. Oh it has nothing to do with getting sick, but rather all the fat that is in the heavy creams and butters in it. They are talking about what to eat and what to avoid to keep from gaining a lot of weight.

Most things are ok, but things to not eat are raw fish, undercooked foods of any kind, things with raw eggs, be careful with things with mayo if they have been left out too long and limit your fish and tuna intake as they contain mercury.

Other than that enjoy. They are just wanting everyone to have a mindset of everything in moderation and to be careful about getting food poisoning during pregnancy.

  5. i guess they make you barf or something.

  6. I have never heard this before, and can conceive of no reason for it.  Go ahead.

  7. I've never heard that before. I still eat corn chowder and I'm 35 weeks, my doctor says everything is fine.
