Why dont radio stations in the south play more amy winehouse, duffy, adele, and lily allen? I see these artist's albums advertised on tv and when I go to northern states and out west (like ohio and arizona) and hear all these artist on the radio all the time but down here (in ga,alabama ) all they play is either country(A LOT OF COUNTRY), rock or rap. Is it a regional thing or do stations here just not like these artist? Is there not a big demand here to hear from these artist in the south? Im from ga btw

  1. Because there British artists. Maybe some places dont know who they are. We dont play the JB or someone over on the radio stations here (Thank god)

  2. I honestly don't know I've wondered that myself (in MS here).

I've heard of them all through the web (i.e. Perez Hilton), and/or VH1 (how I heard about Adele and Duffy).

I love them all and I have no idea why they don't get more airplay around here, but I wish they would. About the only thing I've heard a lot of on the radio is Mercy by Duffy, and a few Winehouse songs when she first came on the scene, but at my workplace we have a CD we play (haha retail...we've got to have music) and it has Lily Allen and Duffy on it, besides more well known artist and a few forgotten ones.

Sorry I rambled, I just feel your "pain"/understand your pondering on this one.
