Why not CO2?

If all animals survive by breathing in oxygen than why can't we survive by breathing carbon dioxide which has oxygens?

  1. co2 has oxygen along with carbon,which is harmful

  4. u must know the reaction in all animal's body so that they can "survive". To produce energy u must combine C6H1206 with O2 and the result is CO2 and H2O.

    C6H12O6 + 6O2 ---> 6CO2 + 6H2O

    To make O2 from CO2 is still somewhat possible, but where will u put the C later?and it took more reaction to make it happen.So O2 is what we need, not the CO2.
