  1. if you steer clear you will get wierd cravings. you should have some ammount.

    or a workable diet

here is what my dietician suggests .  follow a practical diet. start your meal with a soup or a huge salad. this fills u up. Make sure your plate has this ratio - 50 per cent  veg, 25 per cent  carb.remember potatoes, corn and peas come in carbs category,    25 per cent  protein.this will prevent cravings too.have a protein shake if you like too.an occassional treat is OK. have a snack every three hours. fruit ideally berries,  or soy nuts. just 2 tbsp of soya subsides hunger pangs. switch from white rice and bread to brown. eat 900gms of veggies a day.Lose a kilo a week. that is  permanent loss.  pick an exercise regime you like.

get a pedometer and  try to take 10,000 steps everyday.

  2. just small servings will do..7 pounds in 2 weeks is a bit harsh...giv yourself 3 weeks,,,muscles need both protein and carbs to stay strong and burn fat properly

  3. Carbs are good for you.

    They give you energy.

Don't deprive your body of them.

However, don't eat excessive amounts of carbs if you don't plan on working them off through exercise.

  4. There are alot of misconceptions about carbs. Here is a great article that will help you out...

  5. You shouldn't be! It doesn't work.

  6. Perhaps try to cut down on simple carbs (eg white flour products) but still eat a good amount of complex carbohydrates (eg oats) which will keep you feeling fuller for longer, as well as being a good source of fibre.

  7. To explain simply to you, carbohydrates are a form of sugar. When your body intakes sugar, your increasing your blood sugar level. To break down this high sugar level, your body realises insulin. To read about why insulin isn’t great for weight loss, go here.

If you have carbohydrates in your diet at present, you may find yourself quite lathargic, have mid afternoon dips in tiredness, quite irritable ad generally just don’t feel great. Well this is when your blood sugar level dips after eating carbs. So not only are you putting yourself at more risk of diabetes, making yourself lathargic, giving yourself cravings, your also telling your body to release a hormone that likes to store fat (insulin).

Hopefully the picture is beginning to form on why it is a lot more healthy to stay away from carbohydrates everyday, think of how much better you will feel by keeping your bloog sugar levels at a constant. Time for a new you maybe?!

    AND

If your going to learn anything about weight loss, please please please just learn what I am about to post here. Insulin is the most important hormone when it comes to fat loss and you need to learn to control it.

Insulin is a hormone and is produced in the pancreas. It is released when any of several stimuli are detected, one of these includes glucose in the blood. Now glucose comes from a type of food when it is digested, and that food being? Yep you guessed it! carbohydrates. Insulin causes most of the body’s cells to take up glucose from the blood and stores is as glycogen in the liver and muscles. Therefore your bodys first uses glycogen as its energy source and stops using the fat.

Basically, by eating carbohydrates this is releasing insulin and making your body store the fat that you are desperately trying to burn off. So next time your reaching for your piece of toast, sandwich, burger or about to order pasta, remember what is about to happen in your body and think again!

  8. You don't have to completely steer clear of carbohydrates, but the reason you shouldn't consume them in high amounts is because they are easily turned to fat if they are not used up for energy.

They are also the first source the body uses for energy, so if you consume a low-carbohydrate intake then fats are what are used second.  If you have low-carbohydrates then fats will be used up as a source more quickly.

    Best of luck!
