Why not just put giant ice cubes into the ocean?

That would clearly stop global warming.. o ya and we could have giant umbrellas to protect us from the sun, and maybe even build a big air conditioner and turn it on high. Seriously i wish global warming would be real then i would not be so darn cold sitting here in michigan in the -20 degree weather.

Sarcasm about non-belief in it is this. If so then Solar Power in places more warm could be of use to reduce it. Melting snow possible drought could be result in places which were cool. Baking or freezing choices anyone. If poverty and Global Warming throught Socialist variant taken care  there you go two in one deal.

We do have giant ice cubes in the ocean - they're called the polar ice caps, and their surrounding ice bergs. And they actually do keep the ocean cool(er); as they melt they keep r****d (but don't prevent) the increase in global ocean temperature. That effect eventually causes significant sea level rise, and may end the Gulf Stream cycle, which is disrupted by all the fresh water lowering the salinity of the water in the north.

Giant umbrellas, or something like them, in a way, might be a good idea. But preferably, the umbrellas, would be more like mirrors, reflecting part of the sunlight back into space, protecting us. Non-reflective umbrellas would actually trap heat and cause more warming.

The big air conditioner... well, I'm not going to even touch that one. ;-)
