Since 14yo is best age for gymnastics, even 1976 olympics Nadia Comaneci was 14yo, when did the game push up to 16yo?

  1. they think it's safer when they're older but i agree with you. they should make it 14.

  2. First of all, why even have age rules? If you put it down to 14, countries will just use 12, and so on. They should just scrap that rule. Every athlete, their parents and coaches know the dangers of every sport they engage in. It's just part of the risk. No pain. No gain. Besides, these kids start training as young as 5. Isn't that too young already?

  3. Because it is intense training and the rules state you cannot repress a child.

  4. you're a smart kid little boy :D

  5. I didn't even know they had changed it... I was 15 in 1976 and remember Nadia Comaneci and her adorable performance...  I recall that she was young... I thought she was younger than 14, even.

  6. They probably thought 14 was too young to deal with all the stress. I thought 14 was fine.
