Why not "The Beatles Airport"?

Why is liverpool's airport called John Lennon Airport and not The Beatles Airport? Why have they named it after only one of the beatles? I don't think that's fair on the others. If they were going to choose an individual, why not Paul Mccartney Airport.

  1. Maybe they chose a decease Beatles rather than a living ones. Perhaps this airport named way before George died.

Baltimore Washington International airport ( BWI airport in MD, USA)- was renamed Thurgood Marshall airport to honor the former US Supreme Court justice, who grew up in Baltimore after he died but local people still call it BWI.

  2. Because Paul McCartney was not assassinated.

  3. I agree.  If you were going to choose one over another, Paul would have been my choice because he has been knighted by Queen Elizabeth II.

But, I doubt if any of them would care.  I know John and George don't, haha.
