Teachers have no moral while teaching because of many reasons. Then again, the word moral could have many definitions, so I will take the time to type up each and every single one out of the 11 of them.

1 - of, pertaining to, or concerned with the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong; ethical: moral attitudes.

1a - Teachers have to follow strict guidelines about what they are teaching and when it has to be done. Not all teachers have the option to give out homework and not give out homework for instance.

2 - expressing or conveying truths or counsel as to right conduct, as a speaker or a literary work; moralizing: a moral novel.

2a - Teachers don't have the right to express them selfs 100% and they are often "pushed" into the teacher-attitude. Sometimes they get so into it they are a lost soul.

3 - founded on the fundamental principles of right conduct rather than on legalities, enactment, or custom: moral obligations.

3a - Teachers have nothing to do with this.

4 - capable of conforming to the rules of right conduct: a moral being.

4a - Exactly, teachers have to follow the right conduct and sometimes a teachers conduct is not anything to what a kid wants it to be.

7a - Some teachers don't have anything inside except math problems and long words.. but thats what ti seems like, unless you live with a teacher, you know that.

9a - Teachers shouldn't be doing this at all they should be more worried about the curriculum, not their experience.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but teachers don't 'teach' morals and character per say, as in a specific class for it.

But, back in the good ol days, they use to mandate for students to HAVE and USE good morals and character, and would punish them if they didn't.

This is not the schools job to teach this, but the parents. But, the school is suppose to uphold these things and make sure the students follow them. They don't do that anymore for these reasons =

1) They took God and prayer out of schools

2) It is illegal for schools to punish children now, and they wonder why the kids are so bad

3) Parents don't have the good morals and character themselves so they don't teach the kids. And don't care.

4) There are so many students in one classroom and so much bad behavior that teachers don't really have the 'time' anymore to even make sure the students ARE using good morals and character.

5)The teachers now are mandated to teach SO MANY things in a hurry that they don't have time to make sure students have good morals and character.

Teaching Morality and Character?

I for one am doing so--and I teach in a public junior high school in Hualien County (Taiwan)--not a religious or ethnic school.

I try to teach ethics. But in a junior college it's probably too late to accomplish much. My biggest effort is to get students to think and do some research getting reliable sources.

I also think home schooled children are not being taught ethics by their parents. Sorry to say neither do churches. It woul help if we had leader for children to look up to. Parents might not know but if you're driving 75 on a 65MPH freeway, your children notice. When they see you do things wrong they will then believe it is right to do wrong.

Teaching is the most noble and sacred profession. You can not steal your time and worst play around & give wrong information to your students...I am surrounded with teachers in the family...You know what, I guess teachers differ from one country to another, I can speak for Asian teachers, they are still the traditional teachers where most of them still use chalkboard and chalk,,while many also use more intersting teachng aids now, computers, OHPs, Laptops, PowerPoints and whiteboards with markers...but despite the advancement in teaching aids.. they don't forget to teach morals and virtues, they always try to instill them in the students students before and even during teaching ..use illustrations or stories to link them to their lessons and serve as virtues to learn from...so it is wrong to say that teachers have stopped sharing in the classroom..i don't think so especially female teachers who are more conscious of the moral conduct of children becaause they too are mothers or will be mothers in the instance....and for as long as they are teachers, they will never cease teaching the correct way of lif,,that is to live with virtues...................got it?
