Question:

Why oh why does my washing machine have a setting that leaves half the machine still filled with water?

I usually do a 40 degree (c) wash, but had to just wash some throws on 30 degree setting - and when it finished half the machine was still filled with water. AGH!

(Oh, and guess what - that is the only 30 degree setting to choose from.)

I don't have the owners manual, and please don't tell me to go look at the make and serial number - it's all the way downstairs.

Is it there for a reason or were the makers pissing themselves laughing when they thought up that one?

  1. DO YOU THINK IT MAY BE A" SOAK" SETTING? WHEATHER IT IS OR NOT THEYRE SOAKING HUH!!!!

  2. It probably went into a "soak" cycle . . . good if you want your whites to be soaking in bleach, etc.  You should be able to simply move it to a "rinse" cycle which should drain the water.

    Hope that helps.

  3. Go to www.repairclinic.com, and see if you can find the answer there.

  4. It actually sounds as if your washing machine is broken. There would be no reason for the washer to still have water in it after the wash was completed. I would look at the serial number and make(sorry, but its true) and google it for tech support. There might also be the number on the machine to call for help. Good luck figuring it out!
