why is it that everything we do is to please other people

e.g why do most pple lose weight?so that pple compliment them

why do u want nice things so that u can brag to pple abt them

why do u want to date hot pple so that every other person feels S***y

OMG this takes me back...It seems so long ago that I felt like u, but Ive hardened up now & don't give a Monkeys what people think about me anymore...After all who r they & what do u owe them ? As long as ur happy about who & what u r then why bother honestly...Think about it & m sure u will agree with me...

Not all of that is done to please other people. People may lose weight to please people, but I believe most people lose weight to make themselves feel better about themselves and to be healthier. Also, most people do nice things because it is the right thing to do and because everybody needs help. Not everybody does things for the wrong reasons. Maybe you need a better outlook on life, try not to be so negative. Not everything is bad. Good Luck :)

We live in a place where the world influences us to be  more naturally self aborbed. Humans are genereally self absorbed, but it gets very little help from the world..only encourages us to live for ourselves.

Well, the weight loss is beneficial for your health...but I do know what you mean. I could save a lot of money on Clinique, Estee Lauder, the list goes on if the world wasn't like that.

1. I would lose weight for myself and to become healthier.

2. Most do because of the media and the way people act. Nice things=Happiness, which is not true. To me, its about friends and family.

3. Physical attraction is a big part of our shallow lives and to be honest, I have to be somewhat attracted to a person, but its never to make others unhappy.

And about pleasing people. Its what we do. We are so desperate to not be alone and to please. It's like surviving.  Not true for everyone though. I have to confess I live to please, but to a certain extent. I refuse to be walked all over, but when it comes to people I care about I WILL go out of my way for them.

We evolved like that, I dunno if you believe in evolution or not, but it's in our makeup, to  be the best, survival of the fittest, to be the most attractive so we can have s*x with more people and reproduce. That is my theory, but it's been millions of years, and we don't have to do that anymore to survive. Much like we don't need a kick of adrenaline when we speak infront of people. But i think its all our genetic makeup from many years ago, to please people, be the best, and reproduce.

Interesting question. It's all how society works. In order to get attention you do things to gain attention. That's a very good question though. But, as you notice in school or college. People always want to impress no matter what.
