Because Berman is one of their top payed commentators.  I personally hate the fact that they ESPN gets broadcast rights period for the Majors.  They don't care the rest of the year to barely even show a breath of coverage, but then they get the huge payday when the Master's, US OPEN, British OPEN, and PGA Championship come along.  I'd rather have the golf channel show the first 2 days and then watch the weekend on Network TV.

i just really hope i dont hear "back back back back!!' when tiger hits a tee shot.

he should get his fat bald head off of television and go for something different like body waxing or signature creator

Chris Berman may not be the best Golf commentator, but you have to agree that he adds a little color to the telecast.  I enjoy his commentary and think he does a pretty good job.  Hes no Johnny Miller, David Fehrety, or Jim Nantz, but I think he can hold his own.

as for berman... not everyone likes him.  ESPN should keep the commentators in tune with the sport .  there are plenty enough people that already like golf that shouldn't... why do you think you have all these idiots going out golfing at the muni course?

I cannot criticize the " Brown Bomber" ( that is his alma mater) because he is a member at our club and a big son-of-a-gun. He does have his idiosyncrasies in the broadcast booth , but that is Chris. And that is why they pay him the big bucks.

Chris Berman is a buffoon whose "act" has worn very thin. At one point yesterday I muted him. I just can't stand him anymore. He adds nothing to any broadcast he's a part of.
