Why on an uphill with a curb do you park with your wheels turned to the left?

on an uphill wihtout a curb you turn your wheels to the right same with downhill with or without a curb so why uphill with a curb you park with the wheels turned to the right?

  1. In all serious reality, this system was creates so cars don't roll down hill - during the days when most cars were stick shift.

    Unless you need to know this stuff for a test, you can safely forget about it - as all automatic will lock itself - and very nicely too.  Also if you think about it, the left and right only makes sense on TWO way street.  On one way street, if you park on the left, those rules makes no sense again.

    Forgetaboutit.  Just turn your wheels so that if the car rolls (forward or backwards), the car will roll into the curb or the sidewalk - instead of into the street.

  3. because if your car rolls backwards the wheels will stop when hitting the curb instead of going straight down the hill or into traffic.

  4. so if your car for any reason starts rolling down the hill it will run into the curb instead of a car or traffic
