Why on earth are managers not walking Alex Rodriguez every single time?

AROD should be walked! Again today he had a few hits, a few RBI a few runs scored....how stupid are managers to allow Arod to beat them. This is happening every day. Barry Bonds is a jackass, but at least managers walked him. Read tomorrows boxscore, a mediocre pitcher will be serving up Mozza Balls to A rod. Dont you think they should stop pitching to this guy? My question is why on earth dont they walk him...OMG Abreau, Matsui et al, Id rather they beat me than the games best hitter.

  1. Yessssss AROD baby, my team is winning becoz of YOUUUUU!!

  2. The astros walked him today then they have to contend wit tha Giambino 14 hr long live tha yankees

  3. With Damon, Jeter and (at the moment) Matsui batting in front of him, this means there is a very high % chance of a runner being on base when A-Fraud comes to bat.

If the runner is on 1st, then walking A-Fraud puts that runner in scoring postition with either Giambi or Posada in a good position to bat in that runner.

If the runner is on 2nd  already then walking A-Fraud is possible.

If the runner is on third then walking A-Fraud puts the double play back on *but* leaves A-Fraud free to steal 2nd.

If there are no outs & no-one on base then walking him puts the double play in *but* leaves a good runner on the base paths on base for free.

Two outs, no one on base then walk him.

Basically, if the players around him stop hitting, then he'll get free passes a-plenty, like Bonds did with the San Fran Coffin Dodgers. Putting A-Rod on base gives the batter behid him a chance to move him round.
