Why on earth do people still defend the McCanns?

they neglected their child, they buggared off out with friends to a tapas bar ffs.....would you also defend a chav from an estate who p*ssed off down the pub & left her kids home alone....I DON't think so!!

so why they get people sticking up for them is beyond me

p.s. i have 4 kids of my own & would NEVER leave them alone ...at home or abroad

god only knows as in this country leaving your kids in a dwelling alone for even one min is classed as neglect. they should have been prosecuted...

I completely agree.  I don't believe that they have anything to do with it but even if poor Maddie hadn't of been taken, the fact remains that they left their children alone.  If either or both of the twins had of woken straight after the first check on them, it would be at least 30mins before anyone came back.  What would a 3yr old have done with 2 crying babies?  There was a baby-sitting service at the hotel but the Mcanns said they hadn't wanted to leave their children with strangers but surely  that would be better than leaving them alone.  If they wanted a holiday where they could enjoy evenings out with their friends then they should have left the children at home with family - Maddie had already been in a kids club for most of the day.  If you choose to take your children on holiday then everything you do has to be based around them.  They are neglectful parents and they will have to deal with that for the rest of their lives.

AllenB.....you call leaving your three toddlers in an apartment a good walk away from where you are getting drunk, a mistake???  no, you see they left them INTENTIONALLY. it was no error. it was planned.

they didn't go out and suddenly think....oh dear we've mistakenly left the kids, och they'll be ok tho.

as well as being no mistake, it is not something that the majority of parents do. i would never have left my kids on their own on holiday. if i couldnt take them with me to a certain place then i wouldn't go there.

i go to egypt a lot on holiday and i see mums and dads with their kids with them and they still have a good time.  either that or they take turns in sitting with the kids and then swap over.

if the McCanns  had been a run of the mill family from a poor background they would have been proscecuted, not had all the support from gordon brown and friends, and definately not a press officer.

it stinks something rotten.

i still defend Madeleine's parents bcos they have been accused of everything from abusing her to murdering her. They are guilty of leaving their babies unattended - no more no less.

If that was all they were accused of, i'd shut my mouth but to see grieving parents being hounded & hacked with wild & insane accusations just makes me mad.

And for your kind information their Madeleine & their twins were not neglected children. They were well cared for responsibly prior to this tragic holiday where the McCanns were lulled into a false sense of security with terrible terrible consequences.

As for leaving your children alone - good for you.  The dreadful situation that has developed highlights the possible dangers that could happen.

In the McCanns defence, the statistics were on their side.  No one imagines that someone would break into a house and steal a child.  Since that dreadful case, the possibility, minor as it is (your child is far more likely to die in a car accident, but that doesn't stop us driving our children to and fro) has been raised and we are now all aware of it.

By the way, for those who keep on saying people who support the Mccanns are relatives or themselves paedos or child neglectors - I am not.

But I do support the Mccanns in their search for their child.  Why wouldn't I?  I want her found.

The amount of times this is repeated it never detracts from how selfish and uncaring the Mc's were. No loving parent would even contemplate such a thought; let alone carry it out! Those that support these vile people can only consider child neglect as an acceptable way of life and it doesn't seem to matter how Madeleine felt when she cried out for them because they still support them even though yet again they swanned off to do their own thing. Madeleine was unloved and unwanted and the disgusting actions of her parents have shown this. Child neglect is a serious crime but it seems only then capable of knowing the reality of how precious a child is could ever know...

parents seems to parent differently in different countries..they may see that leaving a child alone from a certain distance is ok..but in reality that is far too dangerous in a world where children are used as s*x slaves..

I refuse to defend 2 health-care professionals, who for the 3rd consecutive night of their FAMILY holiday, left 3 babies alone, in an unlocked apartment, while sitting 40 + yards away & drinking with their grown-up friends.

Why do people think they deserve no sympathy? OK. They did wrong, they shouldn't have left her alone, but they did not ask for some sicko to come and take her away! Do you not think they will be beating themselves up about leaving her? Whats done is done and i bet they'd give anything to change what they did.We are none of us perfect parents.Being a parent, i would expect you to have sympathy toward the grief they must be feeling
