  1. If the end zone was smaller it would much easier to score a rouge.

  2. Why is the Anmerican field so small?  Why do they need 4 downs to move a ball 10 yards?  I am not impressed with a team that can't get 10 years ahead with 4 tries, it makes it much cheaper than a 1st down in the CFL?

Hey if you don't like the senior game, the game played for the Grey Cup that is a heck of a lot older than the Super Bowl, you don't really have to watch it.

Different games, different rules, different field, different country, but we are all free to make our own decisions to watch, OR NOT WATCH, any sport.

  3. It makes for a much more exciting game. In the CFL the games are not decided before the 2 minute warning. A lot more scoring might take place. Leads to very dramatic finishes.

  4. If you don't feel impressed with a touchdown pass then a great play by thedefensee to stop a touchdown pass or even a goaline run will  impress you. With such a large field and endzone the defences must really step it up.

  5. It is a different style of play.  The larger end zone definitely makes it easier for the offense near the goal line since the defense is so spread out.

  6. There are many reasons including:  No stadium walls to run into; room to run a real pattern into the end zone; space for the single to be scored on played out; but originally, it just fit inside the 1/4 mile cinder track most athletic complexes had.  More space = more excitement!

  7. I watched the Bills-Redskins game last night. When play got into the red zone (Inside 20 yard lines), the style of play changed. The play became very ball control and the announcers commented on the defensive play that would often result in a field goal in regular season play. W#ith the 10 yard end zones their is no passing when the play gets into the red zone and boredom sets in.

A deep wide end zone makes passing legitimate and a preferred option. Much more exciting than three bucks and a kick.

  8. hey! They use the metric system......Go figger!

    Nice team uniforms tho.

  9. I like the big end zone AKA the house.  Defensive backs still have to work own on the goalline this way.  It's also truer to the roots of the game ie: rugby, than the neatly packaged and over-hyped US game.

  10. Its meant to impress people who played football and to those who have tried to play.football. :)

  11. To facilitate scoring. Also there is a greater emphasis on kicking and there is an extra way to score (single). People often try to compare and contrast Canadian and NFL football. They are different. There are different rules.

  12. As the consesus states..different game and in some opinions a better game. I like the point on needing 4 downs to get 10 yards..So technically you could run the ball for 2.5 yards a carry and get a first down...

I think the CFL is a more enjoyable game to watch..but of coursre the NFL gets the better players, athletes and hype.
