Why pay taxes? Is it really required by law?

State a particular law requiring citizens to pay a tax on their labor & how this effects the contitution.

  1. Title 26 of the U.S. Code contains all of the income tax laws.

    Section 1 states that an income tax is imposed on the taxable income of every individual, married individual, head of household, etc.

    Taxable income is determined from gross income.  Gross income defined is in Section 61.

    In that section, gross income INCLUDES compensation for services which is exactly what you get when you get paid for your labor.

    There are income tax laws.  They are legal, valid, and enforceable.  Anyone who says they are not is wrong.


  2. Eh, I can't state any law here. HOWEVER, I know someone personally who has been sued by the IRS 3 times now. I'm not kidding. She's paid in over $9,000 in fines and stuff.

    I don't mess with the IRS. They will get you. Just pay them for now, and then later, do what I'm gonna do: Move to a country that will not tax you.

    There are ways around everything.
