It's because in our lives, we are limited to our own thoughts, our own brains. We are so obsessed with reading memoirs and letters etc. because it is the only chance we get to see into the minds of other people and we subconsciously compare our own thoughts and behaviors to the other person's.

This reminds me of a line in an Avril Lavigne song:

How does it feel to be different from me?

Reading other's thoughts is one of the only ways to find out.

If this is a problem for you,why are you even writing a diary then? That's we have something called .....a memory. Use it or lose it. But don't write it down! I mean, duuuuuh. Don't *help* them to incriminate yourself, thats why facebook  and myspace exists. lol. If you write it down, then you can't deny it, see? Memory works.

while we read other's letters and diaries we come to noe other's mentality ... we compare our mind set with others. we try think wether our mentality is common with others ...or does every mind have different kinds of thinking process
