  1. In smaller towns and farming communities marriage doesn't  interfere with work and with integration into the community.  But in big cities early marriage makes it more difficult to get professional education and high-status well-paying employment.

    There is no economic penalty for early marriage in small communities.  But in big cities the economic penalty is huge.  It's like having to choose between being a cleaning lady in the lawyer's office due to early marriage and many kids.  Or being the rich and well-respected lawyer who might or might not be married and who probably doesn't have any kids.


  2. Maybe the cost of living is cheaper? Standards and the need to impress the neighbors are lower? With lower expenses one can marry younger.

    Not to mention than city women are usually b*****s, kinda like Sarah Jessic Parker in s*x and the city. They are brain dead and wait until 35 to marry a millionaire until they give up.
