Why people believe in horoscopes?

Because some people want a mystical and magical reason for what happens in life. Also it can be a possible substitute for religion. People often say "You have to believe in something!"

We are supposed to be living in age of science. Where it is possible to eliminate with logic, reason, and scientific testing, the concepts that are false. Astrology's claims has failed all such testing.

But it is still a BELIEF, not factual in any rational way. Beliefs can't pass testing. How can one test a belief? The slimmest chance to be able to see the future is extremely seductive. Can't be too good to be true. Not only do these people think they are programed some how at birth. There can't be any other possible alternatives. Similar to a religion, for believers not only is astrology true, it MUST be true. That is the powers of suggestion and belief, often stronger than reality.

As I am a Scorpio and, according to my horoscope, Scorpios do not believe in horoscopes, I am also very skeptical about them

If you actually read a bit more about instead of just what the local papers prediction is, it is quite interesting.

I am compatible with the same signs.  I also don't get along with the same signs.

My two best friends are other Aquarians and they are honestly the only two other people that really 'get' me.  More even than my husband.

I certainly do not live my life by it and I don't pay attention to generalised readings, but it helps me understand people sometimes.

I don't even think most people believe in horoscopes, they just look for something to rely on.
