  1. Grapes contain sugars.

Sugars in fresh grapes are non alchoholic.

But when allowed to ferment, sugars will turn to be alchoholic.

  2. Alcohol is a byproduct of anaerobic respiration by yeast. You have to add yeast to the grape juice and let it ferment before any alcohol is produced. It is the alcohol that gets you drunk.

  3. Grape juice has to ferment before alcohol is made.

  4. wine isnt just made from grapes, duh.

  5. Have to echo everyone else's posts.  Grapes have sugar, but not alcohol.  Alcohol is created by fermenting the sugars in grapes with yeast.  That said, if you buy some grapes, let them sit for a long period of time -- until they look a little funky.  They will actually ferment a little.  Try one and they will have a noticeable wine-y taste.

  6. Grapes and other fruits go into a process called fermentation where they covert sugar into alcohol.

  7. Grapes haven't fermented yet.

  8. because grapes have to be fermented to become alcoholic, a process of turning the sugars into alcohol with the aid of yeast.

not all alcohol comes from grapes
