Why people said that Fed is boring?

Watching Fed play is like watching Tim Duncan play basketball.  Everything is technically perfect and he wins everything (except for the French Open).

Watching Nadal play is more like watching Kobe Bryant.  He's a raging bull, he's energetic.

A large number of people like to see a show when they watch tennis, instead of the tennis itself.  McEnroe is a perfect example.  McEnroe was a great tennis player, but many people loved watching him not because of his tennis, but because of his court controversies, tantrems, arguments, insults, etc. (just ask the tv ratings people).   This isn't really a bad thing.  It is just the way it is.  Federer used to act like a brat when he was a youngster, but he put all that away in order to play better tennis.  So now many think he is boring.  There you have it!

He's not boring, he just makes it look so easy. (except for the French Final) but he has great footwork and nice ground strokes. He is very precise, like a surgeon.

All people have different tastes of play hes normally great but his performance in the french open was quite boring and poor show so i can see where people have taken that point of view...

I'd estimate because he wins so much. I don't find him too boring either, but he always wins so many titles. People want to see other people win other titles instead of Federer all of the time. I hope that clears things up!

Some people are bored of him winning all the time. Or I guess were bored of him winning all the time. Not me though. Tennis is a joy to watch when Federer is at his best.

This is the perfect question for me. I don't like watching federer play tennis and i never have. Its because he's... not boring, but more unenjoyable. There's nothing that really moves you about his game, if you know what i mean. Like when you watch Nadal or Roddick play ( my favourite players), you're thinking, man, they're putting a lot into the game. The way they move and play and smash forehands and stuff makes it worth watching. They seem to pour a little of their verve and vibe into you. Federer just seems so cold that it sucks the enjoy factor out.

His shots are fantastic but you don't feel that HE enjoys them. when Roddick comes from a set down, you know he feels good. If Federer wins from two sets down and a match point.... nothing. I don't understand if you know what i mean but thats it really.

Thanks for the question. I've been dying to justify my case for a long time.

Its peoples different tastes. I dont think hes boring. They might see him as boring because he doesnt yell or do crazy things. I think hes rather collected and the other type. but fun also
