Why people should protect the world fishing stock(the fish)?

Commercial fishing is a leading contributor to loosing so many fish. As for  sport fishermen, half of us catch and release. Just the time that it would take commercial boats to sorte through the fish to get rid of the ones they don't want would cost them too much money. Thats why dolphin would end up in your tuna back in the  day. Now they DNR regulates that heavily.  The reason why we should protect it is to provide resources for our children and future generations. We can do this by educating ourselves as to the way these resources can be managed to benefit all.

It's a delicate balance we are messing with. It isn't so much the recreational fishermen as it is the commercial fishing. Most people don't think of the bi-catch those boats produce. But just like Airflow said we will just run out of fish.
