Because they've been brought up to believe the world revolves around them.

It doesn't.

because we have been raised that we should be the best and the best can't be shared with others.

God can help tho.

without sin we would know that we are for God.

but with sin we feel as if we are part of the world, and that it's for us and revolves around us.

It's human nature.   People want what they want, when they want it, and expect to get it.  If they grow up with a sense of entitlement then that's how they behave.  If they grow up deprived then they try to make up for everything they think they missed.  There is no moderation.
