  1. because almost all environmental problems has a connection with global warming. in order for you to know why people think that way, better study extensively global warming.

  2. because as major concern which affects world and its inhabitants.

  3. Mainly vested interest.

These sites are good in my opinion, but its kind of anti-global warming with a right-wing bias. http://seoblackhat.com/2007/01/18/global...

And Lyndon Larouche has made, a few!!, good points.

But the best is this guy. Timothy F. Ball. Look here. He has a career of being honest, objectionable, unbiased, and a strong scientific background.

The media does it b/c it's easy to explain and easy to profit off of. A lot of whats said is somewhat exaggerated. Al Gore has been called out by many people, not just conservatives; but super-left wing environmental groups as well. He has received criticism for "Inconvenient Truth" for misleading info like drowning polar bears(3), his own use of energy, voting while in office, and a debated theory on why the hole in the ozone was never found was because he fixed it (the last one is only sited on right-wing radical sites).

A lot of alternative fuel methods are now being given bigger grants (good thing but dishonest) or given more of a chance. Some of the scientist are jumping on board for money to fund research. They leave out that the 3 main pollutants to the Ozone are CO2 from trees being cut, methane gas from cows, and a lot of stuff from volcanoes.

The Media gets to make movies and on slow news days have something to report. Also idiot celebrities can feel smart and that they are making a difference.

A lot of this is true but it is being used as a scapegoat for a lot of environmental problems. Also the earth goes in cycles. We have only been investigating this for a relatively short period. Sense the 80's the earth's atmosphere has risen 1 degree(needs to be sited). We don't know for sure how much of an impact we really have, but we do. John Coleman (founder of the weather channel) is suing Gore for Fraud and is fighting a lot of these allegations.

College professors like this because they get to think they know whats best. They "educate" the class when most of them are really misinformed on it. They will quote a scientist. Scientist now days find what people pay them to, they disagree constantly. Go look it up on google. It's easy on the surface and you get to have a bad-guy. Big bad oil. When in fact we are all apart of it.

Hybrids, fuel efficient cars, battery powered cars, lobbyist, advertising companies all profit off this. I will give credit to Gore for the creation of http://wecansolveit.org/  but it is still money. Now entire professions are being made off this. 20 years ago no one would take Environmental Science or Green Science as a major. Gore is telling the truth when he says he is creating jobs. There is software classes specifically for this. Green Mountain energy barely broke even before this. Anti-Global warming legislation is around now also. Look up the book Rain Forest Algebra is one of the reasons the NCPA is against teaching a lot of this stuff in grades k-12.

But yeah there are things like animals, DEPLETION OF FRESH WATER, crop failure, and other problems that are being falsely accredited to global warming. That and economic problems. Disease, starvation, viruses, litter, deforestation, toxic chemicals, Genetic engineering, over population of all species, and depletion of other resources. Go watch old episodes of Captain Planet. There is a lot of problems not being addressed because they aren't marketable, yet.

Alternative Fuels are the answer. But many being used are harmful. We need to investigate clean with efficiency. And most importantly make it worth the time of oil companies. They aren't going to work hard to put themselves out of business.

Global warming is a scapegoat for "we don't know", "don't look at something else thats wrong", and environmental problems that aren't profitable to fix. It makes money and is easy to understand. I mean really look at the effects of deforestation and see how complex that gets. Seriously though money is the main, global warming is bad but it's not as immediate as they are making it sound. If George Bush is approving legislation for it, its because you can make money off it. He has ties to oil.

  4. Because Al Gore and his fellow travellers are spending a fortune to publicize the fallacy of global warming in order to profit from their emissions-trading scam.  Gore is planning to spend $300 million on propaganda because the payoff for him will be in the billions.

  5. Very valid point, which I totally agree with. GW is a factor, but it is not the primary catalyst. All the attention is focused on "reversing", which doesn't hurt anything and cleans up the environment, but the planet is undergoing severe, natural phenomena and Governments simply can not plan for that.

And what's laughable to me, are those few die hards, who still deny there is a warming cycle, despite constant news coverage everyday of new losses and extreme temperature deviations.

  6. who think, if any body think means he doesnt know  about the problem  . , envi covers all aspects of our life, including death .

  7. Never heard of global worming.

I think it's just the only thing really broadcasted through the media.

  8. You are right, there's a tonne of problems right now. But people can only handle so much information. It's sort of sad, but very true. I am currently studying advertising and the sad truth is that the majority of people are a bit stupid. When you design an advertising campaign you aim it at the 90% of people deemed the average person. There is always a few percent above and below your demographic. This can't be helped, not everyone will understand your goals in advertising. I should mention that I also have a speciality in enviornmental sustainable design.

But for the most part these problems go totally unnoticed. And you are right. The North American world trashes 6.6 billion tonnes of e-waste a year. To places like Africa and the poor regions of Asia. So that's one tonne of computer waste, per person, on the entire planet, trashed into a landfill a year. Which nobody knows about. They just assume that thier ever expanding electronic collection goes away when they trash it.

So yes, there's a tonne of problems out there. Not just global warming. But you also have to work with pre-established information in this case. If you actually told people the state of the planet in a few hour broadcast they would just get overwhelmed and forget most of it.

But the reasoning that this does not happen mostly is about the powers who own the media. Largely religious and oil fronts. Who don't want the world to change, they prefer the 1950's type of mentaility and economy. Sadly they keep the truth from the public.
