Why people treat virgins like differently?

Okay, i was in my 4th period class and a few students were talking about s*x. A girl asked me about my first time and i told her i was a virgin. The girls were like " okay....thats good." . And the guys were laughing there pants off. I told them i was waiting until marrage and they thought i was crazy or somehting. But then two girls said they were virgins and NO ONE SAID ANYTHING TO THEM !! Everyone was complimenting on how innocent they were lol. Its like if youre a female youre looked at as a fragile flower and if youre a guy youre looked upon as a clown that needs to get laid. Why ? I feel that people should commend guys like me that have the patience to do this.

i do commend you!i think it is a great thing and if anything it would just make me like you more!i think it is very responsible and "big" of you..and do not pay attention to them when you get married and your wife and you have that special moment it will be so great.and when they get married and are so worn their spouses can't enjoy anything they will regret it

Your sexual history is nobody's business except your potential s*x partner. Now you know where the old saying "a gentleman doesn't kiss and tell" comes from.

Next time, keep your mouth shut. That goes for girls and guys. "My private affairs are my private affairs" is all the answer that is needed in conversations like that.

It is a double standard and most teen guys will not admit to being a virgin, even though most likely half of those guys laughing at you were virgins.

The bad part is that girls who aren't virgins are considered s***s and the guys who aren't are treated like freaking heroes or royalty.

Just don't worry so much about what other people think about your personal choices. If you feel like you need commending, then commed yourself on sticking to your beliefs.

I think it's because the world expects the guys to be all "macho" and not care about the saying "true love waits" or anything like that.  I guess they do think that the girls are more fragile and delicate than guys, as I have said they expect guys to be "macho" which frankly I don't get. I think it's great that you are a virgin and not some mindless player like so many guys, and care about true love and saving s*x for marriage.

Okay, the boys were giggling because they were embarrassed. Any thought of s*x embarrasses them.

I used to boast about being a virgin and make my friends laugh.

You know. Old school joke "What do virgins have for breakfast?"

the person being asked is supposed to say "I don't know" and then the person asking laughs smuttily.

I used to answer "Toast and a cup of tea" or whatever I happened to have had for breakfast.

And my friends would laugh smuttily.

Just be honest and keep true to yourself. Anyone else's reaction is their problem, not yours.

Well most males don't admit that. When I started going out with my now fiance 5 years ago, I asked him if he was a virgin and he said "I don't know, I think I may have done it once when I was drunk" and I laughed, it was so obvious that he was lying and that he hasnt had s*x, he could have just been honest with me and it wouldn't have seemed so lame : )  Keep going, be proud, it's great that you are a virgin, kids are giving it away just too easily these days. As a female I would actually prefer to sleep with a virgin man than one who has been around the block.

Well that is good that you are waiting until you are married there are not too many guys who would say that they are a virgin.. Boys in school think that having s*x is like getting trophies.. They aren't "s***s" when they have with a ton of girls, but girls on the other hand if they were to have s*x with several guys they are s***s.. Just be happy that when you do get married you won't have to go get tested for stds.. Congrats on waiting!! You won't have to worry about getting a girl pregnant in highschool.. they will

You shouldn't feel bad. It seems like there's tons of guys at my school who aren't virgins and all they want is s*x. Its good to know that there are still some. I'm still a virgin and I'm 15/ Let them laugh and you'll be the one laughing when they get herpes...lol..so dont be embarrassed by PROUD about it. I don't see why kids our age are having so much s*x anyway. I few moments of pleasure for all these different risk.  I really dont see the point of it. Just stay who you are and stay true to yourself and your values because in the end who says these people are going to be your friends in the future. So in that case don't care what they think.
