  1. Thow a couple dozen snails in there to clean it up.  Thats what I did.


  2. You really do need to put more info on your question, lol.

    If it's green, it is algae, you need to give it more shade, a cover can be suspended over it to shade it.

    I would much rather do that than chemicals that really are not good for your fish.

    If its brown and yukky, you need to clean it, drain half the water off and fill it back up, if it's really bad, you have to drain it down to several inches, put the fish and any other critters in tubs, finish draining and scrub it clean.

    If you have to go to that extreme, don't clean your filter, as it has the beneficial bacteria in it that your water needs for cycling.

    Clean the filter several days after all that cleaning.

    If it's another color, you need to write more on your question!!

    If it is BLUE, like you saw it while driving around... they put dye in it. I think that is really ugly and not at all natural looking, but some people do it!
