Why posting your photo on internet is bad?

My mom tells me all the time, to me not post my photos on my space, facebook, hi5, photobucket, flicker or windows live spaces. Even if I set my profile private, she says somebody can look out for my pictures. I am conservative person and I won't post there any pictures me that low my dignity and respect. But I am still don't get why is it bad posting photos on internet?

I know that other people can copy & paste pix than make with it anything what they want with.

tell them that on facebook it's private and only friends can see. although i do agree u shouldn't put pics of urself where anyone can see. what if someone thinks ur hot and tries to stalk u?
