  1. The reason for removing the glove is to gain better feel with the hands. Putting requires much feel and with the speed of the greens at the Open, a more delicate touch especially on downhill putts.

  2. Putting is a "feel" thing.......they can "feel" the putt better without a glove on.

  3. i agree with the other to other answers and i also do this when i 105 yards in to the green. i like the feel of the wedge without a glove

  4. It's both feel and routine/habit.  Once you get in a routine (esp. for putting) you want to repeat it every time.  For me, I keep my gloves (yes, two) on the whole round, even when putting.  I only take them off to eat a dog at the turn.  Putting without gloves gives me better feel, but it's more of a feedback thing and at that point the ball is already gone.  All the low handicap players I have seen remove their glove before putting.

  5. Because  putting is very feel oriented, especially at the professional level of the sport, and they want to have the highest level of connection to their putter and the removing of the glove offers this.

  6. Like the first answer said, "Putting is a feel thing." So you would expect all of them to. I don't think i've seen one who hasn't yet.

  7. cause they love feeling long things
