Why put a picture of someone inside your shoe?

I was told that you should put a picture of someone that doesn't like you or that has hurt you inside your shoe. But I don't know exactly what that is suppose to make happen.

It is so you can stomp their face in.

You can walk all over them.

Never heard this, but perhaps it's thought that by having there image below your foot while you walk, you would be like walking on them. I assume it's something to make you feel better. I'm not really sure, this is just my guess.
