  1. gotta grow up sometime sweetie!  School can't be all fun - it can have fun in it but it gets harder. If you help though, I'd strongly suggest some tutoring.  It could turn your world and opinion of school around.

  2. :-)  What grade are you in?  Or is this your child?

Teaching and learning can be fun.  Unfortunately there are those out there who are pretty "old school" and do a lot of worksheets and busy work instead of really getting a student's brain in gear with interesting topics and explorations and incorporating learning with meaningful experiences.  It also can boil down to the student's attitude.  So consider that as well!   Sorry you are having such a hard time with school...or your child is.  If you are a parent maybe this is a discussion to have with the child's teacher.

  3. Preschoolers learn by doing so activities are set up so they can work with real materials and develop the skills they need to continue to learn. By the age of 7, most children do not need as many hands on experiences and can use the skills they have learned to continue learning. They are able to handle conceptual work,( they do not need to see a cow to know what it is, )and can do more with books and lectures. That being said, teachers can still plan interesting lessons which have students wanting to know more. Many students who have not developed the basic reading and writing skills do find future learning to be difficult. how well do you read and write? Are you able to listen to the teacher and understand what the lessons are about? do you have a personality conflict with the teacher? Most people can recall two or three teachers they really liked. If you are not having a good year, hopefully next year will be better. Good luck

  4. idk....it must just be your teacher cuz mine r fun!!!! and im not it elemantary school!!

  5. some education is kewl like dissecting

(by the way i don't think you want teachers to answer)

  6. Every teacher has a set amount they have to teach, however some teachers reguardless are just more fun. I think that as a kinesthetic learner (which means I learn best by things I can touch) more school need to have a more hands on environment to support the many different learning styles. Hands on and educational games should not just be for kindergarden. I also miss naps but don't see them coming into a high school or college environment. Darn!!!!

  7. Unfortunately, teachers no longer have much of a choice in the way they teach or what they teach.  Despite what students need, they're bound to a curriculum set up by school boards, which are political organizations and not educational organizations.

Schools don't need games to make learning interesting.  Games can reinforce learning, but if used too frequently, become boring and pointless.  The fact is that students crave learning opportunities.  The problem is teachers cannot easily, because of what their job description dictates to them, take students' interests and needs and apply it to the classroom.

    Sad.  True, but sad.

  8. not everything is fun.  the world is not here to entertain you but to give you knowledge to better yourself and provide for yourself and your family in the future so others don't have to do it for you.

teachers try very hard to make it fun or interesting.  but most of the time it's the negative attitudes of the students that make it dull and boring.

  9. i think teachers think that if they work you hard, you will learn more. Strict teachers just want to get all the learning done so they dont have to deal with the kids attitudes.( I dont believe this is true but this is actually what my teacher said. )

  10. It might just be your teachers.  There is no reason why education should not be interesting.  In fact, if students are interested in what they are learning, they will certainly retain more and learn more on their own.  Education HAS to be about more than just filling children's heads with facts that they then regurgitate back on a test.  Learning should be a lifelong process--and an enjoyable one at that!
