Why dows a glass break when a high frequency sound is released?

Because the molecules of glass become unstable and bump against each other so violently that it shatters.  I have never really seen this happen.  I don't know exactly what it would take to do it.  Is the opera singers voice thing really hnigh enough?  I doubt it but I really don't know.  It couldn't happen very often or there would be no glass anywhere.  The sound probably has to be emitted very close to the glass too.  Just my thoughts.
