  1. i love peter pan because of the flying i also love it because of peter. i know he's arrogant but somehow that attracts me. i read that people love Peter Pan because it was the first novel that combined fantasy and adventure

  2. I like the bit in the mermaid lagoon!

  3. Its intriging. Never growing up? Come on.

  4. For years i thought Peter Pan was a washbasin in a whorehouse.

I loved it from the first time I saw the Disney version in 57 or 58.

When ever I tried to encourage my daughter to excell, I always told her to look to the skies and fly  high, second star to the right and straight on till morning

  5. Peter Pan is popular for its fantastic imagery, and because it raises a profound philosophical question to children:  "Would you choose to live in never-never land, where you stay a child forever, even if it meant never seeing your parents again?"

  6. probably because of the fact that it is what every grown ups dream.....all grown ups one fine day out of nowhere look around and realize that they are no longer  kids or no longer that same fun loving easy going small children they were.they realize that that have too many responsibilities and too many worries to take care of unlike the time when they were kids and had everything provided for and nothing to worry about.one particular dialog of the movie totally got me when peter pan says that to live is an adventure but to die would be a greater adventure

  7. Hmm... its one of my favorite books, and the reason is because Barrie manages to capture the essence of youth--literally in a young boy.  I think if we all had the choice, we'd all choose to never really grow up and jsut stay in an island and play with pirates and indians all day... it sounds much more exciting than coming home and paying your bills.  I just love that whole concept of "never growing up" that Peter has. its a great novel! ^-^
