  1. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Batman movie.  But I'll be leaving the kids at home.

Here's the issue I do have, however:  This movie is clearly meant to be an adult/older teenager movie.  Not For Small Children.

So why are there toys being made for the movie?

Movies for children should be marketed for children.  Movies for adults should not be.

BTW, I always check the reviews and parental advisories if I have any question of the suitability of a movie for my children.

  2. Some parents are different than others. I don't think any of us can say why one parent wouldn't want there kids to see that movie. Maybe they are too young. It's not exactly a disney movie. (Thank god it's not)

  3. Because parents teach their children to be easily influenced

  4. In the past, Batman was something for kids.  Today's parents grew up watching the TV show and reading the comic books.  So when they heard "batman movie", they thought, "Great! Let's take the kids!"  The kids see it advertized and want to see it, too.  When the parents realize it's really aimed for more mature audiences, they feel like it's unfair to the kids.  Sorta like having a Barney movie that ends in a chainsaw massacre, or a disney park with a p**n ride. The theme appeals to the kids, and they're disappointed that they can't see it.

  5. I'm not complaining about it.  Anyone who takes a young child to it has no business to complain.  It's not appropriate for little ones, which is why my son isn't going to watch it.

  6. sometimes what i dont get is the parents actually think that the kid is going to sit there quietly and watch that whole movie!

They dont!! There were tons of kids in the movie theater i was in. Not ONE was watching it. They were crying, sleeping, playing games on there moms phone, walking around etc. Kids will not watch or even pay attention to a movie that doesnt catch their eye. Period.

  7. Because parents like to blame anything else other than themselves for their misbehaving children. It's easier to say "my kid beat up your kid because he saw Batman beat up the bad guy," rather than my kid beat up your kid because I don't discipline him the way I should.

I grew up watching Tom & Jerry and the Coyote and Roadrunner torture each other and I've never once strapped dynamite to someone or shoved them off a cliff. Granted, I think you should limit what your child watches, but don't blame tv for your children's behavioral issues.
