  1. It is because we are taught from birth to conform. As babies when we did something that was 'bad' we were showed the way it was supposed to be done. As school children we were taught to be good at all the subjects, instead of being able to fully concentrate on what we were truly good at,and we were under the rules of the school. That school teaches us how to be part of the 'real' world and we are told what it is to be acceptable.

Having our own identity makes us odd,and not part of the pack.

It goes even deeper than this, but if you start to research how we are shown to do things and the media that guides us you will begin to see a pattern emerge

  2. People are afraid because they are afraid of being judged, and rejected.  Be yourself, Its the only way to make yourself happy.

  3. Don't really know why... It's just very western worldish...

  4. coz thier friends know what they like and will take them as liars if they say what they really think

  5. They are afraid of what others may think of them. Many people out there truly care what others think. If someone doesn't like them for any reason they cannot tolerate it and desire to be liked and wanted. They would just die if they weren't liked.

Now me, I could care less what anyone thinks. I'll speak my mind, say what I want and if no one likes it they can go back to their suck up little crowds.

I would rather be hated and free than loved and feel like a slave.

  6. Well with respect to Blacks, it's a little different.  There are many Blacks who want to be scholars, and there are many (myself included) who are actively pursuing this course.  However, the academic door has not always been "open" to Blacks, and even now if is difficult for many Blacks to enter into higher education (usually financial and racial discrimination  prevent them from attending) so the idea of becoming an athlete or entertainer or criminal is more attainable for many Blacks as most of the blacks who are celebrated in the community and the media have made their fortunes from one or more of these ways therefore other Blacks know it can be done.  Just be yourself and remember Ben Carson is a famous Black surgeon and Jimi Hendrix and Chuck Berry are two of the greatest rock n' rollers ever.  It may sometimes seem that we are the minority within our own race, but in truth we are not.

  7. People have reason to fear who they really are, because if you stand for what you really believe in, such as imagine 7 said, you will be rejected by the majority. We are taught to hear no evil, see no evil, feel no evill and such, because if we do we are outcasts, the only people who are allowed to conduct acts of evil without consequence, are those who can afford to do so, everyone else is brainwashed from the day they are born to reject the idea that evil exists anywhere other than within the poverty stricken, and any attempt to fight this truth will only get you ridiculed and labeled paranoid or crazy. We have been brainwashed to conform and accept whatever the rich and powerful throw at us, and fight like ravenous dogs for the scraps they throw at us for their amusement. Think about it, the government demands we pay federal tax, city tax, ss tax, house tax, shipping and receiving tax, sales tax and the list goes on and on, the powerful continue to tax and tax the poverty stricken and then claim they aren't making it because they are to stupid to manage their money or are to lazy to work for it, and both Hilliary and Obama have promised to raise taxes again. On top of that, the legal system has been set up to favor the wealthy, no $300 an hour lawyer, and the case is closed in the favor of who could pay for one. When a poverty stricken youth breaks the law, how do they fix it? They fine his parents, force his parents to put their child in rehabilitation services and mental health services that basically bankrupt them if they don't have insurance, just to try and attempt to keep the child out of jail or prison, they support sexual frivolousness in our youth by handing out condoms and birth control at a very age, sometimes 12 years old, knowing full well most kids are to irresponsible to handle it correctly, therefore the poverty and uneducated cycle along with criminal records commited out of acts of desperation for pure survival tends to repeat itself. The laws and the people who govern this country have set it up this way to ensure their offspring will continue to have absolute power and control until the end of the world. Don't fool yourself into believing anything is free in America, because nobody is free, unless they are in the elite group of politicians, lawyers and judicial system. It is amazing how many people can't see things for what they really are. Jobs that paid $25 an hour with benefits are moving out, and jobs that pay $5.50 an hour are moving in, they call this improvement. Unless you spend 20 years going to college these days or come up with some geneous idea like Einstein, you will never be able to rise above the poverty line, and that has nothing to do with your ethninticity, because this elite group does not descriminate based upon your age, race or sexuality, anyone and everyone is fair game. ;-)

  8. Personal ignorance. Some people are natural followers who prefer to live very stagnant lives. They can't think for themselves.. They have no substance.

Either that, or they're too weak to handle the 'truth,' are incapable of understanding things  just yet, or are completely out of 'touch' with who they are/with reality. They're closed-minded. In fear of ridicule, they either want to be or like to be controlled by conforming without questioning. 'Blind faith' makes them feel comfortable. Being themselves makes them feel 'uneasy.'

Some people are the exact opposite. They don't like to be easily controlled. They like to reason things 'outside the box' and are strong independent-thinkers. Often times, they're more in touch with themselves and have a heightened perceptive 'awareness.' It's easier for them to be themselves. They're open-minded.
