  1. center of gravity

  2. DUDE, SORRY TO HEAR ALL THE MISINFORMATION, THE MAIN REASON IS TO GET MORE OF THE CONTACT PATCH OF THE TIRE TO THE ROAD, WE HANG OFF , BUT THAT IS TO GET MORE OF THE TIRE TO MEET THE ROAD TO BE ABLE TO OPEN THROTTLE EARLY, GREAT RIDERS WILL THROTTLE STEER, SPIN THE REAR TIRE , TO STEER WITH REAR END, KENNY ROBERTS WAS ONE OF THE BEST TO REAR STEER, GOOD BIKES YOU DON'T STEER , YOU POINT THEM.

  3. To be the First to touch the Earth.

  4. I don't quit undestand the? If I understand you correctly! It has to do with the center of gravity! By the way I been rideing since I was 5 and been racing since 9 years old .[ I'm 44]

  5. becoz it helps their bikes to be lighter than they r....

  6. Hey Aks

A bike only has two little bits of tyre keeping it attached to the road and centrifugal force (the sideways push) you get when cornering does things to the weight of the bike etc.

No matter how low the actual weight is distributed on the bike (itself) it will only lean to a certain angle (probably about 55 degrees max - check out John Hopkins in the Motogp test on telly in a minute!) So the placement of the rider is crucial to keep the bike cornering as fast as possible, at the maximum lean angle without having the thing slide out from underneath you!

By getting his bum off the seat, he allows the bike to be at the best angle for fast cornering and kinda keeps the centre of gravity lower.

  7. That help in reducing air resistance, better control and balance.

  8. When the rider leans more [ in road racing this is ] he can scape his / her knee slider and use this a an almost 5th wheel.

Faster corner speed, means faster laps, mean more race wins.
