Why require a physical address?

Question

I've noticed that pornography sites require a credit/debit card AND a physical address.

Why?

I do NOT want them sending me anything in the mail, is there any way I can prevent that, or is it not even an issue?

Because if you are under age, you do "not" have a

credit card. and nobody lives in a mail box. <}:-{(

Usually when you use a credit card, sites need to know your billing address.
