  1. Protein electrophoresis is a method for separating the component proteins in your serum so that the levels of the various proteins can be examined.  It is a fairly simple and relatively inexpensive test.  A "slight increase" could mean anything.  It could mean a slight increase compared to the last time you had this test done or it could mean that the level of gamma globulin is slightly higher than the highest value in the normal range.  I assume that your doctor has now recommended other tests, which is the responsible thing to do.  There is a good chance that you are fine and, if something is wrong with you, the doctor will have recognized the problem before it gets serious.  So there are many reasons to be optimistic.  Don't scare yourself by thinking of (or googling) what might be wrong with you.  As I said, there is a good chance that you are fine!
