Question:

Why should Americans trust an Israeli company to read travelers minds to see if they are terrorists?

This technology sounds like a bunch of quackery. How do we know if this biometric scanner really works? How did they test it? What's it's success rate? How many terrorists has the Israeli security caught?

  1. Mr. Smartypants,

Because we are the best at it.

    Sincerely,

    Ms. Miche ; })

  2. It couldn't hurt, why not have them.

  3. America should trust them because they are expert. We're both countries defending against radical Islamic terrorism and two of many nations defending against terrorism across the globe. Israel has been defending from this terrorism longer than most people reading this post have been alive and longer than any other country on earth.  Radical Islamic terrorism looks for new ways to attack and so we should look for new ways to defend.

Regarding behavior of would be terrorists, it's already been shown by american study there are certain patterns exihibited by some of the terrorists.

More food for thought:  Did you know that 9/11 attackers studied how to fly the planes in an American school? They weren't too concerned about landing, the instructor said in hindsight. Did you know that after the truck was driven into Embassy with explosives they found another suicidal/homocidal maniac going to truck driving school in America. He told his instructor "I don't need to learn how to back up."

  4. Well, why don't you test it.

Try to enter Israel with a bomb and see if the system catches you.

    .

  5. No one really knows the success rate; almost no "potential" terrorists (Muslims) are permitted into Israel anyway. Of the ones allowed in, about four ended up being terrorists. But at least thirty-four of the people forbidden to enter for medical care died because they weren't allowed. There's no way of knowing if that's a result of overly harsh security or of the technology, well, stinking.

But America has an "unquestioning support" policy when it comes to Israel, so none of that matters.

  6. How do they know that it works? How about the fact that there hasn't been one single incident of terrorism on Israeli planes since they implemented the security measures?

If not Israel, arguably the country that attracts the most terrorists in the world (and thus has the most expertise in catching terrorists) then who?

  7. Why not, large scale test it on Americans, if it v. seldom registers any thoughts it probably works..  Maybe it will pick up the 'Irish' Americans and Kennedy clan for supporting the IRA so avidly before they knew the meaning of the word terrorist.

  8. Israel has a very good track record of air travel security. Also, the claim that Muslims aren't allowed in is preposterous.

The number 1 way of finding terrorists is by gut feeling. My favorite example of this is when a white, pregnant Irish woman was given a package by her fiance, not knowing it was a bomb, to take on to an Elal flight. Every passenger is interviewed on the way in and they were uneasy about her, so she was stopped and questioned extensively. Of course, by the time they were done questioning her, they'd already found the bomb (which regular Heathrow security didn't spot). This is not the only example.

We will never know how many terrorists have been put off attacking by the tight security they see.

  9. THEY HAVE A VERY GOOD TRACK RECORD
