  1. Goldfish normally may jump out of water. There can be number ofreason.. It can be as habitual to a fish. If water level is high and no cover. If fish is scared due to some reason..and there are many reasons known to them..

  2. there might have been a bug it was trying to catch.  there are some fish that are KNOWN to jump out of tanks (gobies for one).  i had a goldfish that died the same way yours did.  we found him the first time and saved him.  the second time the dog found him first...

  3. it must have looked out of place on the floor

  4. i had african cichlids jump out of a tank, it was,nt till i had more experience in keeping fish that , through reading books and keeping all sorts that i realized that the water was incorrect. i had them in soft acidic conditions rather than hard alkaline, they will stay near the surfice of the water and try to escape to better conditions( that dont exsist in your house so its the carpet for them or they will eventually die in the tank

  5. theres no real answer.. perhaps it was just silly:-)

  6. parasites, not enough room, feeling threatened, being sick, itching, suddenly becoming scared...

  7. Fish do jump out of their tanks. They do not know that they are liable to jump right out and end on the floor. You need to have the water at least three inches below the top of the tank.

  8. boredom.

  9. Hi, My fish jumped out because we had a storm and he was startled he died because there was no one at home, so i put a fine net over the top of my tank so none of the others could do the same.

  10. What size is it. What fish are in it. what temperature is it. What is the oxygen level. Is there a lid. Did it have a good living condition. Those are all the reasons the fish may have wanted to jump out.

  11. Maybe your water was just too high to the top of the bowl?

I had this happen to me, one of my godfish managed to fall out (jump out) of the bowl as the water was too close to the top, so I lowered the water and the next night my other fish commited suicide also by jumping outta the bowl, guess he missed his mate lol

  12. hmm difficult one, all i can think of is that maybe the water is too near the top of the tank, fish jump out of water every now and again anyway, maybe it jump too close to the side and fell out. i havent had much experience with fish but thats all i can think of, sorry i couldnt be anymore help.
