Why should I believe in god?

Give me one good, genuine reason, that you have not copied and pasted.

Don't say because of the bible, because god did not write the bible, others did.

And regular faith is not enough for me.

So give me a reason.

Why should it be right for me?

Because there are some moments where I don't believe god exists, and more recently, there was one occurrence where I had to believe there was someone or something out there doing something to make it happen.

I don't know about my beliefs.

So I need help.

  1. Christians will kill you if you don't.

  2. Your answer lies in your question itself. It is through different life's occurences that God makes his presence felt.

I believe in God because ofexperiences and not because my parents said so.

  3. You are presumably healthy.

You are not going to bed hungry

you may or may not worship the God of your choice without fear of death.

You have a roof over your head, a computer and hot running water.

All these things and more, make you blessed more than you know. Shalom.

  4. inner piece, to know that you are here for a purpose, to live life to serve God and have hope for tomorrow..

unless you want to believe that when you die nothing happens?

if that were the case, then what is the point of you being alive now, how do you deal with certain situations not having hope

with God you see things clearly, he gives you a new perspective on life, everything makes sense with God

you don't live life to experience the ups and downs to die and be non-existent, that does not make sense at all

  5. Faith is a journey on a very bumpy road. Honestly, I probably have doubts about every other day. Why? You can say that it is because I am human and limited in my comprehension of the mysteries of God.

Sometimes, if people focus too much on "the letter of the law" (fundamentalists), faith and religion become burdensome and can cause unnecessary stress and fear. They miss the concept of love, which is the sole reason why Christ dwelled among us on earth for 33 years. Yes, we should follow the Ten Commandments of God, for they were created by our loving Father in Heaven for our own benefit. Putting all biases aside, really contemplate how the world would be a better place if every person abided by these commandments. By not committing adultery, there would be no STDs. By not killing, there would be no extreme sorrow (terrorist attacks, etc.). If we tried our best not to be jealous of another's attributes or qualities, love would be our driving force. These are just a few examples of God's ultimate plan for each and every person inhabiting the face of this earth. He did not create the commandments just to make life hard and miserable for us. If you want the truth, sin is what makes His commandments difficult to follow. Since the majority of people allow their pride and arrogance to separate them from God, we remain an imbalanced world. Unity begins with God and His Son Jesus Christ, the ultimate manifestation of love. God bless you.

  6. No one can force you to believe in God or not. You either do or you don't. A relationship with God is a personal thing, its something you feel from the inside. To me, I just have a sense of love and understanding. But that's just me. You don't have to believe if you don't feel it, but try to figure out the reason why you do or don't and if you can accept that.

  7. there is nothing that I can do, say, write, make you, draw for you, bake for you to make you believe

it isn't a feeling it isn't this awe moment

it isn't easy it isn't the amazing thing that happens,

believing and following Jesus is difficult and for those who think that it isn't should try it.

You telling me not to use the Bible would be like me telling those who believe in evolution not to use darwin's theory.  To me everything in the Bible makes sense, from the first chapter to the last one it all goes together, God is faithful!

Maybe you should open a Bible and read some of Paul's letters.  Paul used to persecute the Church, and tried to kill every first cent. jewish believer.  Then his life changed on the road to damascus.  Read Ephesians, Philippians, romans, Corinthians.

Talking over the computer can only do so much, open the Bible and talk to God...he already knows what you are going through and have been through, might as well tell him what you feel and think and if you are pissed about something.

  8. Hi, I would like to tell you that I know that the Lord Jesus Christ is very real. I have known Him for many years and I know that it is His desire to show you His love for you. I am so over whelmed by His peace that I receive from Him when meditate on His word. It is better than any thing that you can ever conceive.

Simply ask Him to reveal Himself to you and read the Bible. I use NASB New American Standard Version, it is far better than the King James Version (in my opinion).

Here is a well known chapter that a lot of people use to show that if you believe in Him you will not be condemned.

  9. Because he loves you and gave you your life ...what do you think made us ? ugh why do we have feelings and souls? only word god..you shouldnt be questioning him just being good he doesnt ask much from us just to be good and dont kill anyone if we cant even do that were not worth anything...

  10. Look, belief isn't really all it's cracked up to be.  You either know or you don't.

Look for the EXPERIENCE of God.  If you can genuinely look around you and say, "nope, no God here", then why force yourself to believe?  If you listen and DO hear that small, still voice within, then you will know there is a God, and belief will then be unnecessary.  Faith is what happens after you have such an experience.  All that is required is a truly open mind.

  11. their isnt any ATHEISM!

  12. You have to find out for your self

There are other faiths out there remember, not all require no doubt

  13. Because He died on the cross for you? (and loves you very much) No actually Jesus made it, and people wrote it down :)

  14. I have been like that since I was 8. I used to go to this church with my friend and I think that may have triggered it all. It was a Christian church and every day they would pretty much tell you how to live.

You had to be a republican, Harry Potter was evil and anyone who watched it would go to h**l [I caused quite a scene laughing at that one ahahah] and Being g*y was wrong. So I decided s***w it. I am not ging to believe in this guy if people are going to represent him in that manner. I thought that was a pretty big dis grace to god. I know there are way better churches to that and have been to Catholic churches I really do enjoy, but I don't know a book being all proof just can't convince me....But somehow I can still believe in ghosts and vampires lol....But then again I am a pretty strange person...

Then theres heaven and h**l....If you don't believe in God then you don't believe in heaven or h**l therefor if it doesn't exists to you, your not going there and if you do believe in god well then you go to heaven so therefore there is no h**l...Now it's all good =]

So believe what you would like, and if someone tells you that you have to believ in god tell them they have to believe in Santa ahaha

  15. A good reason would be that that "Design had to have a designer". It's a big subject, but you obviously are looking for an answer. A robot had to have a designer, what about the human hand? A camera had a designer, What about the human eye? A wrist watch...... What about the split second accuracy of the planets and stars?

    Just a couple reasons.

  16. I honestly do not know of a single reason.

  17. Apparently, being mentally ill is a good thing.

  18. Putting your brain in a jar absolves you of all worries.

  19. I believe in a higher power of a god of some kind, but I don't believe in the divinity of jesus christ. You can still believe in god if you want to and not be christian. or jewish or muslim or anything like that. I personally think Christianity is a load of c**p, but that's only my opinion, and everyone's opinions are different.

It's hard to decide what you believe in especially when religion is a faith-based subject and not a fact-based subject. I've realized that what you believe in will come to you in the hardest of times when you really need a reason to wake up in the morning. My first week of college was the worst because I didn't have any faith in other people, myself, or any religion of any kind. Now I don't have a religion really- I'm Buddhist and Buddhism is more of a philosophy than an actual religion. I didn't realize this until I was lying awake at night with my knees under my chin worrying that I couldn't survive college, reality sank in. I had driven 400 miles in a day and I was really stressed out. That's when my beliefs hit my in the head and said "calm the **** down, everything will be alright!"

So you never know what you believe in until something drastic happens.

Good luck with your quest, and just live your life one day at a time and don't get too stressed out.

  20. Odds of having no GOD means you would have won mega-millions lottery at least 10 times by now.

  21. I have probably said this a couple of million times by now. If you were not created, if you are only the eventual product of a very lengthy process where concoctions of chemicals sprang to life from earth's so-called early primordial oceans, you would have no worth whatsoever, not even intrinsic worth. That is both undebatable and unquestionable. If true it would not matter if all people just climbed into trash dumpsters and never crawled back out again.

I for one believe that we were created with worth and purpose.

  22. There is a God.  "The fool says in his heart there is no God."  I believe in the bible because it has never been proven wrong.  All the arguments against scripture are refuted and the bible remains a book of genuine history.  Dont ever let yourself bel;ieve there is no God.  Without God then "eat drink be merry for tomorrow we die."  What a hopeless life that would be.  The universe itself declares a creator.  Random chance couldnt create a plain piece of paper much less every planet and life form in the galaxy.  There are a few books worth reading to help build faith in the biblical texts:

The New Testament Documents Are They Reliable by FF Bruce

The New Evidence That Demands A Verdict by Josh McDowell

The Historical Jesus by Gary R Habermas

These are definitely three great books to prove the authenticity of the bible.

And yes the bible was written by people (40 to be exact) but it is miraculous just the fact that each of these books of the bible were written in a 1500 year span and yet fit together like a puzzle.  Not to mention every prophecy in the bible coming to pass except of course for those pertaining to the furutre.

I hope these books help you as they have helped me

    God bless
