Why should I care about illegal immigration?

As I see it, we're all immigrants or descendants of immigrants to this country. There's always been opposition to immigration, and it's always ended up okay. Why, specifically, is illegal immigration so terrible?

I hope you are kidding illegals, force wages down, allow criminals and gangs to get a foothold in the country, allow terrorists to come here, spread diseases, most have not been immunized for anything,over tax our medical and school systems, insult all the legal immigrants that came here the right way. Also our culture and way of life will eventually be destroyed by uncontrolled immigration. If you care about your future and your children's you should care very much.

The idiotic sancturary city law In SF resulted in an illegal wiping out a whole family, he should have been deported three felonies ago, this has happened all over the country.

You should care because they are needed in this country regardless of what a hand full of people say on here. There's good people and there's bad people in every group, but all you hear about it the bad when it comes to illegal immigrants, especially Mexican illegal immigrants. Immigration has always been an issue, but the politicians (especially the ones that control the media) have made this the new limelight. It kind of makes you wonder if it's a smoke screen to what is really going on in office.

Some people scream LEGAL, ILLEGAL, etc, etc, but that is just rubbish, you know.

As somebody was saying, nobody protests against the illegal behavior of many people that everyday they do really bad things. Or against the war, that is draining the national treasure.

If the ilegals get free services ( which I doubt ) tell Bush. He is the guilty one, not the ilegals.

If there were no ilegals, Bush would spend the money to build a freeway to the moon or over the ocean

I agree with you. It's nice to know someone out there uses their brain so they won't sound like a r****d because some haven't gotten the concept of how America was made, or how THEY got here.

Are you going to wait until your kid is one of the 10,000 people killed in the US every year by criminal invaders? Or maybe s/he will end up on drugs that illegal invaders bring to the US with them. Or maybe die due to a disease from some 3rd world country. How about the education your kid will get? It is getting so bad that kids can no longer speak English here in AZ it's more Spanglish. What about your tax dollars? The more they spend on criminal invaders the more they have to collect from you and me. The list goes on but you get the idea.

I have no problem with immigration IF their legal.. I don't care if martians come in here and work as long as they do it legally.. ILLEGAL is the word nobody is getting .. and the reason they can't get  and the reason they can't get on any real "payroll" is because 1. they are here ILLEGALLY 2. they don't want to pay taxes or they would have come here legally 3. IF they paid taxes and got a REAL payroll then they would not be eligible for welfare and would have to pay the bills like the rest of us

Illegal immigration has caused untold misery among American citizens.  You obviously do not live in the south west.  Hospitals have been shut down by the dozens in Southern California because they cannot stay open - hard to work for free. The law states they must be provided for.;  Many illegals have 6-10 children which cost taxpayers 6-8 thousand dollars a year to school not including their free lunches.  Also,  if you happen to have a business and play by the rules you cannot compete with the ones that cheat and hire people under the table.  It has ruined almost every trade and occupation that their is.  These are just a few of the reasons you should be concerned.  People that are isolated in the north or north east or live in a bubble cannot see the horrible atrocities that are occurring.

Why...Illegal Immigration has cost "us" the tax payer trillions of dollars so they can have the free health care, use our schools, not pay taxes, fill our prisons. They are sucking the life blood of our country.  Thats why.

The problem is that this is a country or law and order.

The illegals that are coming here are breaking the law.

There are rules governing who can come here and for how long.  If you wish to become a citizen you have to pass a test confirming that you understand our nations history and have some basic understanding of how things work.

When illegals come here they are sidestepping the established policy for gaining entrance to the country.  

Because they are undocumented often times they will take cash paying jobs and therefore they are not paying any tax...that is an issue because once someone is here they are getting the benefit of police, fire, and medical coverage.  And since they do not pay tax...guess who has to pay for them.  We do...US Citizens pay.

I don't mind anyone coming here and working hard and making a better life...but there is a process to do it and if you don't follow it then you are breaking the law.

Literally, no one is legal here, but the natives.

Most people came hare as LEGAL and by overstaying their given, certain amount of time they became ILLEGAL.

Illegal immigration is usually so "terrible" because they are doing the the dirty, low paying, slave job, what no born Americans would do. They rather prefer welfare. I have not seen in any hotel to clean the rooms, just foreigners,. And you know why not? Because the locals, who would do this job, are lowlifes and ending up stealing and using drugs.

Learn it too!! Most Americans speak only English, and frankly, most of them not correctly.

Just take a look around you how many great people here to build this country from different countries. Arnold Schwarzenegger, he was illegal here, LOL,or Tom Lantos , Pataki and so on.

To someone, who mentioned must know the history of America; get a history book and take a look about how America leased the lands from Mexico and the end of time they did not renewed at or handed back,it was stolen! ( You still so proud of your history knowledge?!)

Basically; there is illegal immigration is here, because the Americans are so comfortable with it.  The employers give them jobs, because they do not have to pay taxes after them, or issue any benefits. Can you imagine how much they save on them? Can any of you imagine how much revenue they would contribute if they had a slightest chance became documented? Fake documents not from the "Mexican Mafia"(SIC!) it is all over the internet. Any of you wandered thorough NYC? There are districts where you only can hear Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Hebrew, Hungarian, Polish, Mandarin,  etc. languages. And that what makes this country so beautiful and colorful: the nationality and ethnicity's including LEGALS and ILLEGALS.
