  1. To be counted! 4 years ago I lived in PA and I voted for Bush knowing that that was Kerry's home state and Bush had no chance there.

  2. Because I am not so sure that Oklahoma is as locked as it historically is.... Oklahoma has a tendency to vote democratic at the state level and republican at the federal... but they just may vote democratic this time around...

  3. Yes, don't vote then

  4. I think too many people think this way...just vote...you never know what can happen if everyone who thinks their vote doesn't count, voted.

  5. Well, while your state is solidly Republican today, it might not always be that way.  As time goes on, and the demographics of Oklahoma change, it may "purple" (become more evenly Republican and Democrat), and it may eventually turn blue (Democrat) in years to come.  If you resign yourself to the fact that it's red now, then you're cheating yourself whether you're a Republican (you should want to make sure your state is always Republican!) or a Democrat (vote and help eventually change things).

  6. Voting is a responsibility.  Some times you have to take your lumps.  Be happy you get to vote.  Some people are simply oppressed.  According to the U S Constitution it isn't necessary for the people to vote for a president at all.  States are required to send electors to the electoral college where the president is to be chosen.  The number of electors is determined for each state by adding its representatives in the House of Representatives to the number of Senators it has.  Using this method the president is elected by the states and actually represents the union and not the people.  People are represented in Congress.  The method for states to choose electors is up to each state.  This is specified in Article II of the U S Constitution.  Its on line ans so are you.  Remember each state is a separate nation.
