Why should I invest in the world fund??

Question

Now that iShares has a single fund that invests in all countries/economies, industries/sectors, and asset classes, why or why not just invest in it alone and stop trying to guess what are my best options?

Let's say it's a horse race...sure you can buy a win ticket on every horse... but I doubt that you'll come out ahead ( unless a real longshot wins)...so it's probably better to put your money on just " the best horses" you can find.

Who will do better? Someone making gizmos and widgets? Someone building roads, dams, towns, ports? Someone buying oil...or selling it?
