Question:

Why should I move to Canada?

I am 20 years old, and I live in Texas, United States. I am a Christian (non-fundamentalist) who is looking for a possible place to move, in order to get away from these crazy evangelical "christians." They seem to be every where I go. Maybe that is because I live in a severely conservative evangelical town though, idk.... I would almost rather leave the United States altogether for several other reasons. How is the economy, lifestyle, living costs, recreation, language spoken, and religious views of people in Canada? BTW, I am planning to go to dental school to become a dentist (of course.) Would a guy like me fit in Canada? I love hockey btw, haha. Lemme know on why I should move or why I shouldn't move to Cananda! Also, reccomend a city in Canada.

  1. I suggest Newfoundland, there is still a fair amount of Christians here but most people here speak English. There are a few French-speaking communities in the southern part of the island but that’s about it. I wouldn't advise doing your schooling here though. It would be very easy to get a job as a dentist up north of the province since a lot of places are rural. I know children up here have to take a 6 hour drive for braces. It’s not that secluded up there but I think it will do yourself justice.

  2. I agree with "Citizen know Nothing" - your first priority is Dental School.  Once you are a Dentist - you can figure out where to live.  My favorite City in Canada is Victoria, British Columbia.

  3. Everything you need to know about Canada is in this website below.

    Good luck.

  4. Your current city/county does not represent the U.S.  For one you are in a very red (conservative) state.  There are plenty of other places in the U.S. where the culture is moderate, or liberal.  I have not heard negative things about Canada.  The taxes are extremely high, however they offer a plenthra of social services including health care.

However, do not expect to relocate their for 6 months, and receive free college/medical care/ and such.  You will have to apply for a residency, get citizenship, pay into their system and such.

  5. The place for you is Dease Lake British Columbia.

  6. No, you should stay in America...

  7. Yeah you should. I live in the best country in the world. Economy is good, cost of living is cheaper. People here are a h**l of a lot friendly than in your neck of the woods. I'll never leave. The two provinces you should at are B.C. #1, and Ontario #2. I personall y live in B.C. and will never leave. If you love the outdoors, it's the place to be.. plus you'll make a fortune as a dentist....

  8. You would have to be a good hockey player to fit in in Canada

liking the game would only leave you on the sidelines

funny that you want to leave TX when so many other people want to move there

    maybe because of your youth

you are making an error in judgement

I would recommend that you think things over

if your going to dentistry school

what difference does it make where you live

as long as you are in a good school

your 1st consideration should be where a good dentistry school is located

    once you have finished school

than think about where you want to live
