Question:

Why should I spend my time as au-pair in New Zealand?

I'm from Germany and want to spend a few months as au-pair in an English-speaking country, but I don't know, if I should spend the time in Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the USA. Now I'm very interested in your opinions: Would you recommend to come to your country, New Zealand, and WHY? What do you love about New Zealand, and what do you not like?

Thank you!

  1. NZ and Aussie are great - spent half my life in each country.  NZ if you were to go, pick the South Island though, SO much nicer.  Bottom line it's up to you where you want to go...

Think about what Climate you want to live in, population, food, transport cost and of course airfares.

Enjoy your trip no matter where you go!

  2. Go to Aussie - better pay. South Island isnt that great - I lived there as a kid til early 20s. Only good if you go to Queenstown - SI is full of National Front supporters which isnt too good.

  3. New Zealand is a very easy going country, people are wonderfully friendly and are always happy to help. Beautiful scenery its a great place to be. The only downside for me would be the public transport system its not the best
