Why should Mayweather fight Cotto or Antonio? I am challenging the Mayweather haters!?

Okay, lets say he wins. You guys going to come up with a million excuses of why Cotto or Antonio didn't win. You ain't going to respect Mayweather if he wins or not in my mind. Why? Because its about race and not boxing. You can't fool me and I'm going to let you have it. Its about the c**p he saids before the fight and after the fight. You watched Tyson be stupid inside and outside the ring. But Mayweather isn't a role model and he is in a hurt sport. The object is to sell tickets and hit and try not to get hit. Why stand in front of a man and get the c**p knocked out of you like Gatti did. Only a fool would do that. So, stop saying he runs all the time okay people. 38-0 with 25 knockouts don't come by running okay. Spinks run and I admit that. h**l, even Ali danced around the ring. And Mayweather didn't fight bums either okay. Dela Hoya, Hattan, Judah, Castillo, Corrales, Corley, etc. I know you wouldn't stand in front of a guy and let him pound you so why should he?

if evey fighter once they hit superstar status decided to only fight once a year and only the fighters who would make them the most money ,it would hurt boxing.most already do that and they suck for doing it.the fans want champions who defend their titles against the best in their division and defend it often.mayweathers head has gotten so big he is annoying,every picture you see of mayweather he is holding a wad of money,who cares,is he a banker or a fighter.boxing doesnt need mayweather,i wish he would just go away.it has nothing to do with race but arrogance most dont like it.

This one is easy

If you claim that you are the pound per pound king, you must prove against anybody, not just hand pick your opponents you can beat the best of the line up. The style makes the boxer, not the boxer makes the style.

The 140 to 157 is full of highly skilled prospects waiting for little Floyd to come out and play, but Little Mr. showmanship is to busy trying to look cute and feed his egocentric self esteem. Of perhaps he is just hi dding from a reality he cannot face.

margo doesnt matter for me if he loses or wins against mayweather cause he has got beaten , but cotto is a different story, both mayweather and cotto are unbeatable, if they fought it would be a risk for both fighters(unless its a draw) if mayweather is a BRAVE GOOD fighter then he would have no problem fighting cotto so he should take the fight, but he keeps ducking cotto, that proves he has a big risk if he fights cotto and he is scared, he wants to retire with an unbeatable record , and if he does, people are always going to say that mayweather was scared of cotto, so i  would give mayweather full respect and credit if he beat cotto , until then , mayweather is just a coward that wants to fight in the WWE, Mayweather could've used the time to fight cotto then to fight  the big show, , Mayweather is a Coward ,PERIOD............ and if you noticed mayweather either fought opponents that were old or he fought opponents that he had confident in beating, old poeple are (Gatti, DLH , Castillo) and fighterhe had confident in beating(judah,hatton)so what are the odds??

People dont like his attitude so they use that as an excuse to discredit his wins. For example look at Cotto vs Gomez if Floyd fought Gomez it would be a Joke and everyone would talk about him avoiding the tough fights. Cotto fights him and all of a sudden Gomez is a worthy contender. Don't listen to these guys its not bout Being a Nut Hugger its about know boxing and Most of these people watch HBO and Friday Night Fights and think they Know boxing. When HBO gives him his credit then 90% of these people on here will.

People wont respect him they will just find a Petty reason to discredit him.

He beats Corrales ( they say Corrales was dehydrated)

He beats Castillo Twice ( they say he lost he lost first fight)

he beat Judah ( they talk about The Low Blow Rumble)

He beat Baldmoir( They say Carlos was a Journeymen)

He beats Oscar( They say the fight was Boring)

He beats Hatton ( They say Joe Cortez stopped the action)

See its excuse after excuse they will never respect Floyd and thats what hurting boxing not tatical fights its Trying to break down the biggest guy in the sport.

I dont no how you can sit there say im the best fighter, and he thinks hes the best fighter and one of the best all time, he has to take the toughest challenges.  Guys like leonard, hearns, and hagler didnt pick and choose their fights like floyd, didnt take the biggest payday over the best fight.  Guys like that are recognized as some of the best all time because they fought who the fans wanted them too fight.  Mayweather piks and chooses his fights for one reason $$.  De la hoya is in his last hurrah and hatton was not a tru blu welterweight.  HE won both but against a young strong champion from puerto rico who is making his name huge in the boxing public, he refuses to even talk about it.  Granted mayweathers a great businessman and a great attraction.  Mayweather dosent run hes a great boxer, but that is irrelevant when it come to who he is going to fight.  HE had great performance agains hatton and a good one against oscar, but the more he talks the more the fans are saying hes running.  If he wants to be a recognized star and great fighter like leonard he needs to fight that tommy hearns or cotto in this case, he needs to fight the duran or hagler and if he wins then a majority of his critics will be quiet and look back and say he was one of the best.

There isn't any reason why he has to financially, but if he wants to be considered an all-time great he's going to have to beat a few more top level guys.  I'm not saying he can't beat Cotto, Margarito, Mosely, etc. but all things considered, the two best names on his resume are Corrales (because when he beat him Diego was considered to be at the top of the game) Zab Judah, who was beaten much more convincingly by Cotto.  Thats really it - De la Hoya is/was not even close to the same fighter he used to be, Ricky Hatton had nearly been outboxed two fights previous to his fight with Floyd, beyond them the list becomes only good fighters, and old former champs.

In the meantime, Cotto beat Zab to a pulp, and beat Shane Mosely (who was 2-0 against De la Hoya in their primes), and Margarito has been taking on the most dangerous welterweights that will fight him.

I think a lot of fans would prefer Mayweather to fight Cintron, Paul Williams, Mosely, Berto, or Quintana instead of De la Hoya or Hatton again.  Beating two guys you just beat doesn't add anything.

A huge part of pound for pound is being willing to take on anyone.  Floyd can spit out stats, but at this point there really isn't much that separates him from Cotto as far was resumes go - and if Floyd (and his fans) expect him to get the recognition he thinks he deserves by making a living over, basically his last 6 fights, taking on guys he knows are about 3 steps slower and without the youth and skill to challenge him (Gatti, Baldomir, etc.) when he's sitting in the most stacked division around, he's going to have to wait until he retires and hope that an undefeated record of 40-0 is enough.

cotto and mayweatehr should fight to see whos the real welterweight champion. theyre both undefeated so why not see whos the real welterweight chamipion. cotto is beating up alot of welters and floyd just beat up a judah who everybody beats and baldomir who has like 10 loses give me a break.

u know floyd is a fraud welterweight champion, he needs to prove himself against the #1 contender and that is cotto
