  1. I want McCain simply because I don't want a foreign person having access to all of our secret government stuff, which could be easily relayed back to terrorists.

  2. cause he stands for....

Less Government Intervention, Less Taxes, More Experience!

  3. He is a strong leader. He has experience. He is a war hero. And he has been in senate for more terms than Obama. We need a strong leader, right now. Not a novice, that is only being put in the games because the democrates will try anything to get control of this country.

  4. No particular individual "should" be President. He/she 'should' be elected by a popular vote. Beyond that he's simply a lousy alternative given our limited choice. Have you seen anything resembling "less" government recently? Anything at all proactive for working Americans?

  5. I was working on an email to my brother about why he should support McCain.  Here's what I've got so far, and it's by no means finished:

    Military Experience:

Experienced combat first hand.  Knows personally the suffering it causes.  After Vietnam and his physical rehabilitation, went on to command a naval air squadron, and under his command, that squadron achieved it's first Meritorious Unit Commendation.  Achieved rank of Captain and was in line to be promoted to Rear Admiral, but chose to resign and run for Congress instead.

    National Experience:

Served in the House for 4 years and 20 years in the Senate.

    On Energy:

        * McCain will repeal the 54 cents per gallon tax on imported sugar-based ethanol, increasing competition, and lowering prices of gasoline at the pump.

        * McCain wants to end the stupid subsidies for corn based ethanol, which use almost as much energy to create as we get from it, and that raise food prices.

        * McCain truly supports nuclear power, and wants to build 45 new plants by 2030.

        * McCain Will Encourage The Market For Alternative energy such As Wind, Hydro And Solar Power.

        * McCain does not support an idiotic Windfall profits tax on oil companies.  Recognizes punishing oil companies with a punitive tax will not produce even 1 extra barrel of oil.

        * McCain wants to reduce gas prices right now by giving us a gas tax holiday

        * McCain supports new drilling for oil and natural gas in areas currently banned.

    On the Economy:

        * Long list of economists support his plans, including a Nobel Winner Gary Becker.

        * McCain wants to keep tax rates low.

        * McCain wants to lower corporate tax rates to help keep good jobs here in the USA.

        * Allow first year expensing of equipment and technology to motivate companies to buy and upgrade equipment and make them more competitive.

        * McCain will negotiate with our trading partners to lower trade barriers for US goods.

        * McCain favors comprehensive spending controls. Bringing the budget to balance will require across-the-board scrutiny of spending and making tough choices on new spending proposals. This includes a 1 year pause in discretionary spending growth.

        * McCain supports low individual tax rates - sole-proprietorships, partnerships, landlords and others are taxed under the individual income tax.

        * McCain will fight Earmarks, Pork-Barrel Spending, And Waste: John McCain will veto every pork-laden spending bill and make their authors famous. As President, he will seek the line-item veto to reduce waste and eliminate earmarks that have led to corruption.

    Entitlements:

        * Reform Social Security: John McCain will fight to save the future of Social Security, and he believes that we may meet our obligations to the retirees of today and the future without raising taxes. John McCain supports supplementing the current Social Security system with personal accounts - but not as a substitute for addressing benefit promises that cannot be kept. John McCain will reach across the aisle to address these challenges, but if the Democrats do not act, he will. No problem is in more need of honesty than the looming financial challenges of entitlement programs. Americans have the right to know the truth and John McCain will not leave office without fixing the problems that threatens our future prosperity and power.

        * Control Medicare Growth: The growth of spending on Medicare threatens our fiscal future. John McCain has proposed comprehensive health care reforms that will reduce the growth in Medicare spending, improve the quality of care, protect seniors against rising Medicare premium payments, and preserve the advancements in medical science central to providing quality care.

  6. Because Obama really sucks.
