  1. because spanish is being spoken all over america.

  2. Spanish is spoken by 1/3 countries of the world.Spanish just like any other language comes in handy in case u come across a spanish speaking person.

If i'm right spanish is easier 2 learn than any other language (including English).Spanish is fun 2 learn but can sometimes be difficult. It's pretty KOOL.

    Adios!!!

  3. most schools dont require you to take Spanish...you can choose from Japanese, German, Chinese, French etc...

  4. i think its stupid to this is not  mexico its america and when we go to mexico do they have to learn english  no  so why should we have to learn spanish

  5. Right--knowing more than one language is a huge advantage in this world. And Spanish is a particularly useful language to know--esp if you live near a Spanish speaking country..Your friend doesn't sound too bright or aware of the realities of the world--maybe you should dump her!

  6. its a main language

  7. Knowing a second language has helped me to keep several jobs I've had while in college. I got them a lot of times over people who had experience. I speak several languages and it can only help, not hinder. It certainly makes someone more competitive.

For those of us learning Spanish, I agree that it's a good idea if you plan to live in the U.S. in the next 20 years.

Here's a site that teaches all of the common topics people talk about. And you can learn them in Spanish.

  8. Most colleges require at least 2 years of study in a foreign language in high school for admission and Spanish is a relatively easy one to learn.

It's also good if you ever want to visit a Spanish speaking country or study abroad in one.

And yeah, it is good for a lot of jobs, especially if you want to get involved in politics, foreign business affairs, manage a business where you would deal with a lot of Spanish speaking people, including building and construction management, or even something as simple as being a Spanish teacher.

It's also just generally good to be multilingual.  I personally know Spanish, English, and a bit of French.

  9. i wannted to learn japanese in high school but they gonna put me in spanish thats sucks but s[anish is great because lerning a new language is good, i know 4 languanges english, spanish, vietnamese, and mandarin

  10. Learning a second or third or heck a fifth language definitely has its advantages. There a lot of Spanish speaking people in America and the rest of the world. Mexico borders United States and many Americans go there for vacation so learning Spanish is only a wise thing to do. Seriously do you expect everyone else to learn English while foreigners who come to that country don't really speak even a little bit of that country's language? It's like put some effort you know? It's great tons of people know English but learning Spanish or French or German or Chinese will only be helpful to you.

Don't take it to heart anyone who says some language is dump and you shouldn't learn it. Why? It just makes you communicate better with people.

  11. I  HATE taking Spanish it stinks instead I take Portugues Rocks

  12. Cause Spanish is like the 3rd most spoken language in the world.

It's the States second language, and it's growing so the more people speak it, the more handy it is to know it. Plus, i believe its not mandatory to take it after a few grades.

In Canada, we have to learn french for 5 years, then it's our decision to continue. I've continued and have been learning it for 8 years now, and i'm glad with my decision.

  13. spanish would be a very useful language to use, because everywhere you will find people that either know spanish or english because like it or not spanish is either the 2nd or 3rd most used language.

I HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY "THIS IS NOT MEXICO, IT'S AMERICA AND WE DON'T NEED SPANISH"

ok, sure y'all don't live in mexico, but what if you go on vacation to spain or to the caribbean. most people there only speal spanish and we appreciate people trying to talk in our language. not to mention that nowadays people who know more than one language (especially spanish and english) are THREE TIMES more likely to get hired for careers.

  14. because you either have to learn french or spanish.you HAVE TO take one language. You cant really use french in the us so the best thing is spanish so you can get jobs more easily. etc.

  15. You are right it is good to learn a second language.  It is necessary for many jobs and is helpful if you ever want to travel somewhere where they speak that language.  Also, colleges like it when you take a second language as do employers when you are looking for a job..  Keep it in mind that some people that you may encounter, even in your own country will not speak English and it may be beneficial to understand them.

  16. Exactly right that it does help you with a future career. Also, it's helpful to be more aware of other ethnicities, especially one which has such a large population living within the Unite States. I was never good at Spanish and I regret not taking full advantage of the courses offered to me. In the long run, it will be worth it though.

  17. it depends on what kind of spanish teacher you have. if you have a spanish teacher who really helps you then you can benefit from that class. but if your spanish teacher can barely speak english and all she does is gives you tests... then that class is a waste of time!

  18. i think you should learn how to speak english first before you can learn spanish.

    Putho

  19. well i personally hate spanish cuz it hard but it is good to know 2 languages
