Why should Russia honor its cease fire agreement when the NATO dishonored its Agreements with Russia?

Russia was assured that NATO would never expand beyond Germany but surprise it has, I can sympathize with the Russian as it seems the US has had trouble honoring agreements since its westward expansion of the colonial times. Really if the US can invade Iraq a UN member with falsifying evidence of WMD why should Russia honor anythng on paper?

There was never such an agreement with Russia.

BTW - are you aware that under international law - Iraq had violated the ceasefire agreement from the 1991 war and we were free to resume hostilities at any time?

Well, a cease fire agreement when you've pretty much won the day is one that is easy to keep.  Basically, the Georgian military is in shambles; units are roaming around out of touch with the central command and the Russians are blowing up or confiscating equipment at will.

What the Russians want to do now is to start a discussion among the Poles of whether it is really necessary or worth the risk of introducing NATO missiles onto their soil when Russia will pin point  each one those missiles with 1,000 ton warheads x10.  

The status quo has been upset and the clock is ticking..Can the USA

run the world while it fights a trillion dollar war in the mid East.?  I think not. Putin thinks not and the EU is not about to do the dirty work for

Bush and Co at a time when they are on the way out.

If you can sympathize with Russia right now, today, then you need to leave this country.  You don't belong here.

Why would you be against the US for the Iraq war, yet support Russia for doing something similar in a worse context?  Makes no sense to me...

yes, absolutely right, beside that Nato broke it twice-the countries with unresolved territorial issues can not join them. NATO offered it to Georgia and....(lol) Azerbaijan (they reply they r not in rush, but NATO insisted..)

PS: Russia was pushed to this war, and US gov is pissed by Medvedevs and Putin's clever moves

teranam 9, after russians ceased, many georgians wearing russian uni were killing people, ossetians, abhkazians, walking on the streets shouting- ossetians won, come out!... many civilians did come out ....to stay forever where they were, children, women, elderies....   and now US "half"-military mission is there... doing what? teasing russians? supporting genocide?..or may be taking back weapons, they supplied georgians for free?.....
